Wabanakwut (Wab, “I”):

The author and story teller of the book. Grow up in Winnipeg and worked in CBC.

Ndede (Tobasonakwut):

Author’s father. Ndede was sent to residential school in his childhood. He spends most of his time in teaching and preserving Anishinaabe culture before passing away from cancer.

Anne Katherine (Kathi):

Ndede’s second wife and author’s mother. She met Ndede when studying master’s degree in U of T.

Shawonipinesiik (Shawon)

Author’s younger sister. When Ndede was sick, she came back to take care of him.
